mmm cake

so...i don't know if many of you are aware that i am taking a cake decorating class :) i know it sounds lame and silly, but i'm loving it! my friend, lysa and i are taking it together and we still have 5 classes to go i think. anyway, i thought i would show you my last 2 creations. i didn't take a picture of my first cake, but you're not missing much by not seeing it. this week i think we're doing some sort of lace looking cake...maybe cornelli lace? does that sound right? who knows...



please continue to keep aaron and my dad and the rest of the fam in your prayers...they're still in africa and don't come home until saturday. i've spoken with aaron and my dad and they seem to be having a wonderful time! its hot and the living conditions are terrible, but they love spending time with the kids!

sarah and trevor's wedding

what a weekend! i flew up to indiana this weekend to go to my friend, sarah's wedding. well, i got to indiana, but never made it to the wedding. my roomate from college, meghan, was my date to the wedding. she was in town visiting her family for the week, so she went with me. we were on our way to the wedding, and we were rear-ended, sending us into the car infront of us! ahh! the lady hit us pretty hard, but luckily nobody was hurt! it was a big mess! so needless to say, we didn't make it...and i was so bummed! that was the whole reason i went to indiana! however, it was so wonderful seeing all my friends that i haven't seen since my wedding! i've seen a few since then, but its always nice seeing old friends. here are some pics from my trip.

please remember aaron in your prayers this week and next. he is going to africa with my dad, his dad, my aunt and uncle, and many others that are close to my heart. pray for safety and an open heart! :)

anniversary: 2

we made it! :) can you believe that its already been 2 years? time has flown by this last year, and a lot has changed. we moved back to oklahoma from arkansas, we bought our first home, and we bought 2 dogs...just to name a few. if you recall, i have a very ambitious goal to go to 50 states for 50 anniversaries :) last year we went to texas (ou vs. texas football game), and this year we went to fayetteville, arkansas. some of you may say, 'geez...can't get enough of arkansas, huh?' well, the entire time we lived in arkansas we never made it to northwest arkansas, which we heard was absolutely beautiful. so we decided, since we'd have to go there at some point for an anniversary, it may as well be #2. we stayed in a very quaint bed and breakfast and our bed was literally as hard as a rock and VERY uncomfortable! we ate local food, we walked around the university of arkansas, we did some shopping up in rogers, and we were able to have dinner one night with our dear friends, the doughertys, who we met when we lived in searcy. overall, it was a very relaxing weekend and a wonderful way to celebrate our marriage! marriage is so fun! :)
