5 days! i leave for africa in 5 days! i was laying in bed last night thinking about what seemed to be all the potential negatives for the trip, and i became overwhelmed with anxiety about the unknown. i tend to be the kind of person who likes knowing everything i can about a situation...i like being in control and being prepared for anything. so back to laying in bed...i started praying that God would comfort me and really help me trust that He is the one in control...and just like that jeremiah 29:11 popped into my head.

for I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “they are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

so, i needn't worry...God already knows everything, and if i put my trust in Him...then i shouldn't worry. i don't know who reads this, aside from a few family members...but if you think of it, would you pray for me to really let my worrying/fear guard down and to be able to go on this trip with an open heart and an open mind, i would really appreciate it! :) and pray for the rest of the group as well

4 days and counting

we haven't had gas for 4 days! ...which means we have no hot water either (no showers, dishes, laundry!) just try to imagine what my house looks like on the inside...its a mess and aaron hates it! we've been staying here, but showering elsewhere...which is also a pain! the gas guys are out there working right now and they're going on 3 hopefully by the time they're finished, we'll have hot water again! and to add to that, we've also had the att guy out and the adt guy out! its been a busy morning at the woolsey house!

i'm looking out my window and this is what i see...

this is where the gas meter was...out in the middle of the yard

and here is where it is now...right by the house

first annual blackberry festival

so my dad decided he wanted to have a blackberry festival benefiting 4-H.I.M, the ministry that he goes through when he goes to africa. well, this year there were no berries! at least not enough to open to the public. so he invited some close friends and family out for a fun night at the farm (blackberry picking, hayrides, fishing, desserts, etc) and in return, he hoped for some donations. i feel like overall it was a very fun night of fellowship!

there is a hidden blackberry in the middle of these cupcakes :)

God bless the...

i always love the 4th of july and this year was no different. aaron and i had a very restful/relaxing day. he watched a hot dog eating contest on espn and i watched dirty dancing! then we were off to randy and jill's to watch fireworks in their neighborhood
(with homemade ice cream & my favorite new dessert).
we had a minor setback but that soon passed..

(if you can't tell, it was raining horizontally and lightening like crazy! and the whole neighborhood where we watched fireworks was without power...)

and here is what we watched, and who we watched with...

thank you mr. firework, thank you

please excuse the narration :) apparently the mic on my camera is very sensetive
