1 month

can you believe that our sweet campbell is 1 month old today?!?! we can't! time has flown by, in 3 hour increments at a time :) she's growing wonderfully and is so pleasant! she eats great, sleeps great, and is overall a very happy baby! we love her so much!

here are some campbell tid-bits:
-she just started wearing newborn diapers (up from preemie)
-she has great neck strength already, but doesn't really care for tummy time
-she has the cutest gummy smile and quasi laugh
-her eyes are still blue
-all her clothes are still too big, with the exception of her preemie clothes
-she told me she really wants to go see twilight: eclipse
-she loves going to church and loves worshiping
-she's looking forward to working the berry hut this saturday at the farm with me, abby, and grandpa

i birthed a weed!

i took campbell to the doctor today for a follow up well visit. since she was a preemie, the doctor prefers to see her a little more frequently than a full term baby just to make sure she's growing right and is as healthy as she can be. well, we went to the doctor on june 10 and campbell was 18.5 inches and 5 lb 10 oz. today she was 20 inches (i think) and 6 lb 12 oz! i couldn't believe it! i was hoping that she would be around 6 lbs...boy was i wrong! everything else looked great, except that she is still a little jaundiced. i think i'm going to start putting her near some windows or maybe we'll start taking some walks to get her a little sunshine to make the jaundice go away. but overall, she's as healthy as a horse and growing like a weed! i love it! here she is home from her appointment - pooped!

more firsts

so yesterday was aaron's first father's day! i think he enjoyed it...campbell and i made our first public outing (aside from the pediatrician) to church to celebrate aaron! campbell and i are so thankful that God gave aaron to us :)

aaron plays guitar in the band at church, so campbell appropriately wore this to church for dad :)

in other news

abner has been relocated...

OUTSIDE!

that's right...he's an indoor/outdoor (mainly outdoor) cat now. it was really sad for me. we transitioned him outside the week i had campbell, so i cried a lot leaving abner outside. i cried a lot that week for many reasons; abner was just one of them.

i'll leave you with some of my recent favs of our sweet little girl :)

campbell's big debut

drum roll please...here she is! she's no longer in hiding! :) i would have posted pictures sooner, but it was so sad to see her so beat up and i didn't want other people to have to see it either. last night her nurse was one of the nurses that was in the delivery room when i was laboring and saw campbell at her worst and she said last night 'she looks like a whole new baby!' ...but she's looking better with each passing day! last night we did a 'room stay' at the hospital with her to go through what a normal night would involve and if we had any questions or concerns, there was a nurse there to help. i love that they do this before they let preemies leave the nicu...it really helped ease the anxiety. unfortunately, campbell wasn't able to really maintain her temperature, which then made her sleepy during feedings, so she didn't eat as much as she needed to, etc. its a cycle. so we were hoping to get to bring her home this morning, but that didn't happen. they decided to keep her and monitor her for a few more hours to see if her temperature went up and she ate better - WHICH SHE DID! :) so, we were able to bring her home this afternoon! we got home around 4 pm.
