camboni's first road trip

look at our car! this is all the junk you have to take with you when you go on a road trip with a baby! geez louise...you may be thinking, 'you probably didn't need all of that stuff...' i assure you we did - my bag, aaron's bag, campbell's bag, stroller, pack-n-play, pump, bottles, bottle sterilizer...it was ridiculous!
we went to st. louis this past weekend for a little woolsey reunion at busch stadium. it was really fun getting to be with family and getting to spend time together. this was actually ryan & lindsay's first time meeting campbell!

we broke up the drive up into 2 days and spent the night in springfield and got to see our sweet friends from searcy, josh & kelli! we always love seeing them and secretly hope that they'll move here someday :) here is a picture of kelli and cam...can you say - double chin, party of 2!

we then headed to st. louis on thursday and did a little shopping and friday we headed downtown...

then we hit up busch stadium and enjoyed an evening game and had absolutely perfect weather for a baseball game! it was wonderful...until our baby started screaming and then spit up on aaron's new cardinals tee (oops)

since it was a night game, camboni was wiped out the next day, so she did a lot of this:

campbell also picked up a new habit while we were gone...who knows, maybe it was big city life that inspired it...

overall - great trip

day late and a dollar short

so happy labor day, a day late! i wanted to share with you how we celebrated labor day...

with big bows... (when she wears this one, we like to call her lola) :)

and chocolate-peanut butter whoopie pies! ...or whoopie cushions as my mom would call them. they were a hit! here is the recipe, courtesy of better homes and garden:

* 1 12-oz. pkg. miniature semisweet chocolate pieces
* 2 Tbsp. milk
* 3/4 cup butter, softened
* 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
* 1-1/2 cups granulated sugar
* 1 tsp. baking soda
* 1 tsp. baking powder
* 2 eggs
* 1/2 cup milk
* 1 tsp. vanilla
* 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
* 3 cups all-purpose flour
* 1 recipe Filling

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Set aside 1/4 cup chocolate pieces to sprinkle on cookies. In microwave-safe bowl combine 1 cup of the chocolate pieces and 2 tablespoons milk. Microwave on 50 percent power (medium) 1 minute or until melted; stir once. Set aside.

2. In bowl beat butter and peanut butter with electric mixer until combine. Add sugar, soda, baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon salt; beat to combine. Add eggs, 1/2 cup milk, vanilla, and melted chocolate; beat until combined. Beat in cocoa powder and flour until combined. Stir in remaining chocolate pieces. Drop by rounded teaspoons 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Sprinkle with reserved chocolate. Bake 9 minutes or until tops are set. Cool on sheets 1 minute. Transfer to wire racks; cool completely. To assemble, spread flat sides of half the cookies with Filling; top with remaining cookies.

3. Filling: In bowl beat 1 cup softened butter, 1 cup creamy peanut butter, 1 cup marshmallow creme, and 2 cups powdered sugar with electric mixer until combined. If needed, beat in 2 tablespoons milk until spreading consistency. Makes 30 servings.

Praise The Lord

so, we admitted c-dub to children's hospital yesterday morning at 8 am...they said they wanted to monitor her since she was 5 weeks early. her mri was scheduled for this afternoon at 1pm, however she was able to get in a few hours early due to a no-show! yay for us, stinky for the other guy. we were told that the mri would take approximately 1.5 hours since she was getting a head mri and a full spine mri - 3 hours later they finally gave her back to us. ps - it was so hard to give her up (i'm pretty sure i was fighting back tears...) anywho, it was so strange seeing her come out of her anesthesia! she was groggy and when she would breathe it sounded raspy, but the nurse said it was saliva that had pooled in her mouth/throat and she just needed to make herself swallow. she hadn't eaten since 3:30 am, so she was pretty hungry, but due to her extreme sleepiness it was almost as if she couldn't make herself to swallow to eat SO she didn't...she just laid in her bed while she became a little more alert.

shortly after we had her safe and sound in her bed, the hospitalist came in and told us the results of her mri...

thank you so much for all of your encouraging thoughts, words, and especially your prayers
