honestly, where does the time go?!? it really just seems like yesterday i was uncomfortably pregnant, and here we are and campbell is 2! fortunately, i think this party was better than last year, in that she wasn't sick this year! last year she had a fever and was cutting her first tooth. this year, baby girl had a ball! she was running around and laughing and playing! music to our eyes and hears! last year we did a lolly pop theme and this year we just did a pink & white theme. we got our invites from sarah and abraham and i really loved them! here is a sample

you can choose the colors, the wording, the silhouette, etc. i was very happy with them. they also made matching stickers for our favors, which were a hit!

now are those cute or what?!?! this was my second time making cupcake in a jar and i have to say, these are cuter. love love love anyway, aaron and i are so thankful that we have such loving family and friends who came together to celebrate and love on our sweet campbell. i hope she always knows and feels how loved she is! we missed all of our michigan and indiana family, but we'll be seeing them soon. as for her actual birthday, memorial day, we did what we did last year - we went to the zoo as a family. this year our friends, courtney and charli came with us! it was so fun, but super hot (at 10 am!) and since it was so hot, we came home and played in the pool and had lunch outside! overall, both days were celebratory and fun! we love our girl so much and she is such a wonderful addition and blessing to our family!

happy belated birthday to the hubs! his 30th birthday was may 3. what did we get him, you ask? well, my parents graciously helped me clean out our garage and scrub the floor with degreaser and we epoxy-ed our garage floor. he's always wanted it and now he's got it! he loves it! :) and campbell gave him a thunder shirt. i think overall he had a great birthday that was made even better last night, as we went bowling with some of our favorite friends! i bought a bowling groupon, so 8 of us got 2.5 hours of bowling and shoes for $50! we had a great time! hopefully, aaron knows how much cam and i love him and are thankful he's our man!

i wish i could tell you this last picture's high scorer was aaron or i, but it was our friend, bret who used to be in a league so he has his own ball and shoes! he killed it...

gymnastics

campbell has been in 'mommy and me' gymnastics since march and today was family day, where family members can come watch and she got a gold medal at the end! she absolutely loves gymnastics and i love how she's learning coordination and getting used to being upside down and rolling around. :) its also fun because her friend, elly and her cousin, joslyn are both in the same class! here are a few pictures from family day

campbell's best friend is elly bowers. elly's mom, amy went to anderson with aaron and i and her parents lived here for several years while her dad worked at our church. we love our friendship with the bowers and we really love that campbell and elly get to grow up together. bret, amy, and elly came over to my parents house to celebrate easter with the webbs and we got several cute pictures of them loving on each other :)

for those of you who don't know who olivia benson is, she's the detective on law & order: svu. she's pretty awesome. anyway, i thought i'd give an update about something that i've dealt with today. remember when i mentioned that abner died?

that was back in december - fast forward to the first week of march and i got a letter in the mail and on the envelope i noticed it said something about a court appearance. i was instantly bummed, as i thought i was getting jury duty. well as i opened it and read it, i realized that i was being summoned to court to be a witness for a 'failure to confine dogs' charge. yikes! so the court date was originally for two weeks ago, but the defendant was ill so we rescheduled for today. when i first got the letter i was afraid that the animal control lady accidentally wrote up my citation and added that i wanted to take this man to court (which i didn't), so i call up the courthouse and ask and the man on the phone if this was the case and he said no. so i instantly get very excited on the phone saying, 'so this is going to be like law and order!?! i'll have to take the stand!' and he very quickly burst my bubble telling me that this was in fact not like law and order at all because it wasn't a criminal case.

and i have to say that it totally was like law and order! at first we had to 'all rise' and then i had to stand in front of the judge and hold up my hand and promise to tell the truth. then i told my story and was asked questions by both the representative for the city and the judge. then the defendant's lawyer asked me questions - totally trying to downplay my story and what i saw. then the city and the defendant's lawyer questioned the animal control lady who took my citation. and twice the defendant started whispering to his lawyer and the judge snapped at him, sternly telling him to be quiet! i couldn't believe it! then the lawyer makes her closing remarks as does the city and then the judge gave her ruling, disagreeing about everything the lawyer had just said. oh, and i forgot to mention that the defendant plead 'not guilty' at the very beginning. well, the lawyer found him guilty and doubled his fine! and was tempted to even raise it $300! she basically said to him that i (amy) have done him a big favor by not pressing more severe charges against him as she would have. then she said that if she ever sees him in her courtroom again, she'd 'sock it to him fine wise' and she was totally in my corner! woo too! it was all very hard core and i was so nervous the whole time.

i'm so glad that this is over, but we're going to have to really be careful about this neighbor because he was very agitated that he was found guilty and was very defensive and confrontational.

spring has sprung

happy st. patty's day! i hope you're wearing your green! if i'm being honest i'm not wearing green, but i'm just at home so no one can pinch me :) its been so nice around here lately - the high 70's, so we've been playing outside more, which campbell is loving! also, we had our first mommy and me gymnastics class this week. i think i was more excited about that than hambone, but i think she enjoyed it. unfortunately, i didn't get any pictures because it was go go go, but she did somersaults and walked on the beam and played in the foam pit! another thing we tried for the first time was swim lessons! we went to water babies today and campbell had the best time! she really was great at kicking her legs and surprisingly great when i dunked her! we will definitely be coming back to water babies! luckily, aaron was there today to snap a few pictures and take some video - i haven't uploaded any of the videos yet, but i'll put some on here as soon as i do.

well its ten a while since i updated about our family - unfortunately i don't really have any updates :) campbell did turn 21 months old the other day and i absolutely can't believe it. she will be 2 in 3 short months! she's growing up right before our eyes and looks more and more like a little girl with each passing day.

i had a dentist appointment the other day for myself and thought that it wouldn't hurt to take her and get her used to the dentist and what they do there, now that she's got 10-12 teeth. at first she was really hesitant - clinging to me and kind of whimpering, but at soon as the hygienist started working on my teeth she became very curious and i think she was fine with it all. she wouldn't really show april (the hygienist) her teeth, but she was able to see what she needed to AND she scored a new toothbrush with piglet on it :)

in other news, our household has given up sweets for lent...ugh, its so hard! i'm fairly certain i had a headache for 4 days straight when lent first started. however, i'm proud to say that i haven't cheated yet (no dr pepper or sweets) and as far as i know, aaron hasn't cheated yet either. hooray!

it was 65 today, so campbell and i ventured out to try a new park! since she is recovering from an ear infection, i thought i'd cover up her ears with her new hat that she got for christmas! i wish she would wear it everyday - i.love.it

so christmas has come and gone, and here we are at january 1, 2012. good thing i started the day off right, with a big johnnie's burger and dr. pepper. i'm already finding success with my eating healthy in 2012 resolution - NOT! oh well, hakuna matata. i digress...

aaron's parents came in the wednesday before christmas and it was nice having them here so we could all enjoy each other. of course, campbell got some pretty great gifts so that means its about time to sort through her toys she already owned to pick some out to donate. we were also able to spend time with all of the webbs over at my grandparents house, which is always fun. here are some of our pictures - enjoy!

christmas is always a time when people come home to visit family, so some friends from high school and i were able to get together for a fun dinner. its always fun for me to spend time with friends who i've known since childhood. :)

goodbye 2011 - we're so grateful for all of our blessings! i hope and pray that in 2012 we can embrace all that comes our way and always be thankful.

i come to you today, with a sad heart. our sweet abner died this week. :( unfortunately, i witnessed him being attacked by two boxers and he died before i was able to get him to the vet. it was pretty awful for me and i cried all day. we'll always love you and miss you abner! you were a great cat!

its beginning to feel a lot like christmas

we're been doing a few christmas-y things so far this month: we went and got our tree from a tree farm, we went to the christmas story at church where we got to do a few fun activities, and today we went and had our picture taken with santa! woo too!

i'm learning that campbell is a 'girly' girl who doesn't like feeling anything dirty or slimy or gross...see below

and lastly, we went to see santa today. i was expecting the worst, and was pleasantly surprised by how well campbell did with santa. i feel like she's at the perfect age to hate santa and be 100% afraid of him. well, she didn't shed one tear and she didn't even try to wiggle out of his lap. success!

since i last showed you the picture of our sweet girl, a lot has happened: we celebrated thanksgiving up in michigan, we got to meet baby averie (campbell's first cousin),i turned 29, i made some new nightstands for our room, the webb's had family pictures taken, and i got a retainer. i'll start with thanksgiving. one piece of advice - if you're going to be driving 18 hours with a one year old, you must have a dvd player! aaron and i would have lost our cool several times if we hadn't had one for this road trip. we really grew tired of hearing the mickey mouse clubhouse theme song, but as long as she wasn't screaming we were fine... while we were in michigan, we were able to meet the newest woolsey, averie morgan! aaron's older brother, ryan and his wife lindsay had a baby towards the end of october so we loved snuggling such a tiny, brand new baby! before we left for michigan, we were really trying to work with cam about 'being gentle'. overall she did great - except for the one time she threw a block and hit baby aves smack in the middle of the forehead. oops. it was really wonderful having all the woolseys together. here are some pictures of thanksgiving, courtesy of ryan.

i also made some new nightstands, with the help of my awesome friend, carmen. i was inspired from this website. i don't really know why, because i don't really consider my self creative. but to my surprise, they turned out great!

i'm not going to show you my 'after' photo yet, i'm just going to show you our new, improved bedroom. :) but they look just like the inspiration, only maybe a tad darker. i may not be creative, but evidently i'm really good at copying. :)

i turned 29 and got a retainer. both uneventful and painful - literally, my teeth hurt :)

i mentioned here about our webb trip to colorado and having professional pictures taken. well, since silas got sick the day of, we had our pictures redone around halloween. we had our family friend, melissa take them out at the farm and here are a few that we liked:

now we're gearing up for christmas! we're going to get our tree this week and start decorating! we're in for a busy month! happy holidays from the woolseys!

this last week we had the pleasure of hosting one of my best friends from college, meghan! she is in a transition period, so she had a few days to pop down from seattle for a visit. this was her first time meeting campbell, and it was love at first sight...they hit it off! these pictures are from the fall festival our church had - we won at the cake walk! woo hoo for free cake! :) ps - if you couldn't tell, cam is a garden gnome

i don't know how or why i haven't heard of bella tunno before now... i'm sure i've seen their pacifier clips before, but i don't buy those, so when i found their solution sack, i was in love!

this is the solution sack. i have the green one. the funny thing is, is that campbell isn't really to the age yet where i can giver her crayons to occupy her. i'm loving the solution sack for other reasons.

1. i don't use a diaper bag for cam now that she really only requires diapers and wipes...and i just keep those in my purse. when i take her to bsf or the church nursery, i do need something however to give them with wipes, diapers, pacifier, etc. i really don't want to have to carry 2 bags, so when i found this i immediately thought of it as the diaper/wipes bag that i can just take out of my purse and hand it to the nursery! all i had to do was put her nursery bag tag that i got here and wa-la!

2. these bags are washable! i can just throw it in the washing machine if i really need to, but the material almost feels like paper so its super light weight and wipes off easily.

3. bella tunno gives a percentage of their profits to charity. i love that!

4. when i'm ready to actually use this as the solution sack it was created to be, all i have to do is put in the bag what came with it: a disposable bib, multi-purpose pad, purell antibacterial wipes, shout stain remover wipe, band-aids, baby wipes, crayons, bic notepad and pen set!

if you have a little one(s), you should go out and get one pronto!

well, we made it. we are 5 years married as of today. happy anniversary to us. today was a wonderful day! aaron's day started off a bit earlier than mine, as he went to pump iron around 5:30 am. my day, however, started off with this - he made us pancakes!

this is the first time i've ever seen him cook since we've been married!

then i got to look at these

and then feed breakfast to this sweet girl

then cam and i went to the gym and came home for our respective shower and nap and then we had lunch with aaron at iguana lounge! yum! then i went next door for a little treat :)

THEN...we had family fun day at the zoo! this was campbell's second time to the zoo, the first was when aunt mary came to visit. the weather was nice for a day at the zoo - 82ish degrees...it sure felt a lot warmer while we were walking, but we enjoyed ourselves!

1. it got a little hot so we took off her pants
2. she's wearing my old lacoste shirt from when i was her age! love that!

lastly, aaron and i dropped campbell off with my parents for her weekly overnight and we headed to the ranch for dinner...we ate here the night we got engaged and every anniversary since then. its our favorite steak place!

now we're home and about to watch horrible bosses. today couldn't have been better. i love my husband. i love my girl. i love my life. thank you, Jesus!
